Research in Self-Growth Colony Optimisation Technology (SGC) started in 2009 under the Entrepreneurship Programme of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Subsequently, SGC Cosmotech Co Ltd was established for the development and application of patented biotechnology in anti-aging products. SGC Founder Venice Tsoi spoke to HKTDC Research about her company’s experience in expanding business in the Greater Bay Area.
Kazakhstan’s Astana International Financial Centre is fast evolving as a ready connector for Central Asian enterprises to go global and foreign financial players to dip their toes in the burgeoning Central Asia market. As the international financial centre in Asia, Hong Kong is working closely with Kazakhstan in such sectors as banking and finance, legal and arbitration, start-ups, and education to turn vision into action.
According to HKTDC survey, mainland parents spend an average of RMB2,747 a year on baby and child furniture. Department stores and hypermarkets are the most common shopping channels. “Conformity to safety standards” and “no hazardous chemicals” are the top considerations when respondents buying furniture for their children. The survey also shows that, 83% of respondents are willing to buy a totally new brand of baby and child furniture.
